Cookie Policy

This page explains which cookies bjornbus.nl uses and why. Last updated: September 2026.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others are placed by third parties whose content is shown on this site, such as YouTube or Spotify.

2. Your choice

When you first visit, you choose what may be placed. Until you choose, this site sets no cookies at all and makes no requests to third parties. You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page.

3. Necessary

These are always active, because without them the site cannot do its job. They do not track you and are not shared with anyone.

  • bb-consent — remembers what you allowed. Stored for 12 months.
  • bb-scheme — remembers whether you prefer the light or dark appearance. Only set once you switch. Stored for 12 months.
  • bbsess — only for the site administrator while logged in. Visitors never receive it.

The contact form does not use a cookie. It is protected with a signed timestamp inside the form itself.

4. Statistics

With your permission, Google Analytics 4 records which pages are read, so Björn can see what people are interested in. It is configured with Google Consent Mode v2: advertising storage, ad personalisation and Google Signals are switched off permanently, and IP addresses are anonymised. Nothing is used for advertising.

  • _ga and _ga_<id> — placed by Google Analytics, stored for 400 days.

5. External media

The background video in the header is served from this site itself, sets no cookies and needs no permission. Some other parts come from other providers. Without your permission they are not loaded; you see a placeholder with a button instead. Load one and that provider may place its own cookies.

  • YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) — the compilation video behind the play button and the videos under Media. Embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, so nothing is stored until you actually press play.
  • Spotify (Spotify AB) — the playlist under Music. Places sp_t (12 months) and sp_landing (1 day).
  • Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) — the timeline under News.

6. Refusing or deleting cookies

You can withdraw your permission at any time through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings, or set your browser to refuse them. Parts of the site may then stop working as intended.
